This coffee is processed by the Gisheke Washing Station, on the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. Almost 40% of the coffee processed in Gisheke comes from the Bushungwe Islands. All the coffee produced on the island is transported by boat to the washing station.
The station is focused on the production of natural and washed coffee. The station itself is located at 1650MASL, while the coffes it works with reach up to 1850 masl. Including the land surrounding Gisheke and the nearby coffee growing islands, this station represents the production of 787 farmers in the region.
In the cup it presents a good clarity and acidity. Sweet flavours like molasses, caramel and maple syrup, with hints of red apple. Clean and easy to drink profile.
